Kim Hayashi
In education as well as practical experience, Kim Hayashi's background spans a variety of borders. Brought up on community ideals and social values, it was no mistake that Kim developed a passion for philanthropy and event planning. Over the past 12 years, she has been involved in the production of events including fundraisers, weddings, community festivals, leadership conferences and seminars, as well as several proms of which some were featured on shows such as MTV's Once Upon a Prom. Following a passion for sports and community, she has assisted in various volunteer efforts, raising funds through basketball and golf tournaments as well as working for the Boys and Girls Club on the opening of a new club in Anacortes, Washington.
Most recently, Kim has been involved the production of multiple events including; Have Faith in LA and EcoNouveau fashion shows during Los Angeles’ Fashion Week, the National Collegiate Golf Championships in Las Vegas, and the USC Davis School Swing for Healthy Aging Golf Classic. Currently she is focused on producing a youth Leadership Academy she developed at Chapman University and managing a national program with the Collegiate Golf Alliance and the PGA. Kim holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and a bachelor's degree in management and marketing from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California where she was presented the Order of Troy award for outstanding involvement and achievement in the University community, academics and leadership.
Joshua Fredenburg
Joshua Fredenburg is a national leadership speaker, author, Generation Y Expert/Coach, and Media Commentator who specializes in developing future leaders of Generation Y, helping seasoned leaders become more effective at leading and developing leaders of Generation Y, and serving as a positive voice and advocate for Generation Y in the media on various social and political issues that affect this younger generation.
For the past few years, Joshua not only obtained a Master Degree’s in Organizational Leadership, but he has published an amazing book on leadership entitled, “A Call to Action; 14 Highly Effective Leadership Principles for Leaders of Millenials” that is geared toward helping any individual that serves as a leader of Generation Y become more effective at leading and developing leaders of this younger generation. In addition to these two amazing accomplishments over the past few years, Joshua has also traveled to 37 different states reaching at least 1.5 million people with his powerful message on leadership.As a media commentator, Generation Y Expert, and positive voice and advocate for Generation Y, Joshua not only hosted his own political and social talk show that was covered by MTV during the 2008 Presidential Elections, but he also served as a guest commentator on the KTLA Morning Show for the Inauguration of President Obama, he appeared as a guest expert on KPIX 5 in San Francisco, KABC 10 in Sacramento, and many other random radio and television talk shows across the country to talk about issues revolved around Generation Y and Leadership.All his work is done for the ultimate purpose of helping others become effective leaders who can make a positive impact in their community, nation, and world!
Amber Anderson
A native Southern Californian, Amber Anderson participated in the Model United Nations program and traveled with People to People Student Ambassador Program while attending Cerritos High School. A senior at California State University of Long Beach, she is pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a minor in Hospitality Food Service and Hotel Management. She is on the President's Honor List at CSULB, and works as a student assistant at the California State University Chancellor's office, while recently completing an internship at the Earl Burns Japanese Gardens.Amber enjoys working with people, family gatherings, traveling, and activities with her Sigma Kappa sorority sisters.Amber Anderson is the newest member of the Vision XY leadership conference team, working as a intern in preparation for the first annual Circle of Change Leadership Conference.
Kendra Granger has been working in the field of graphic design for 4 years, and is located in Upstate New York in the small town of Wolcott. She graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Graphic Design. Prior to starting her own business, she worked at Campus Marketing Specialists where she served as a Graphic Design Intern. While there, she did work for many Universities and Colleges all over the United States.Her goal as a Graphic Designer is to provide clients with designs that set them apart from their competitors, and to create designs that are innovative, new, edgy, and original to the client’s own personal style. Our mission is to develop and implement out-of-classroom programs and services that educate CSULB students about ethical leadership, cultural awareness and positive social change. Dr. Jeff Klaus, Director of Student Life and Development (SLD), is responsible for the day to day management of the Student Life and Development office, the Lois J. Swanson Leadership Resource Center, and all advisement and leadership programs coordinated by Student Life and Development. He provides visionary leadership that enables student leaders and student development advisors the ability to collaborate and succeed in maintaining the co-curricular mission of California State University, Long Beach. He has his doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne, an MPA from California State University, Long Beach and Bachelor of Arts from Boise State University.
He developed the Lois J. Swanson Leadership Academy which became a nationally recognized leadership program at CSULB. His expertise was utilized to help train Chinese government officials and students on volunteer management in preparation for the Olympics. In addition, he provided training on Interpersonal Communication Skills and Decision Making to department chairs of the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons. He recently was trained as a Human Relations Trainer through the California Conference for Equality and Justice and a Character Counts facilitator through the Josephson Institute of Ethics. Dr. Klaus is also a State Certified Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Advocate/Counselor. Dr. Klaus has presented at a number of conferences as a keynote speaker, presenter and panelist. He also believes strongly in giving back to his community. This led to him being awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award by President George Bush.
